1. Take the mug and push the clingfilm inside so that it covers the entire inside of the mug and a little bit sticks out of the top.
2. Crack the egg into the clingfilm (preferably with the yolk still intact!)
3. Take the excess clingfilm and tie it into a knot so that you have a nice little 'egg parcel'
4. Pop your 'egg parcel' into a saucepan of boiling water for 4-6 minutes depending on how runny you like your eggs.
5. Cut the top off the clingfilm and pop the egg out onto your toast/brunch/eggs benedict!
I know this sounds like a crazy way to make poached eggs and many chefs that I've told have told me its 'easy' to make it with vinegar and vortexes, but this is a perfect every time poached egg without any mess in the pan!
This is brilliant ! Just tried it
This method is brilliant! I've never been able to cook poached eggs but now have them every day, perfect runny yolks, lovely!
Sound like a good Idea and would make it a lot easier to do more then one at a time in a smallish pan. Will be giving it a go.
This is a great idea as I can't poach an egg no matter how I try! Deffo going to try this one soon!
this is so easy to follow the only problem is getting them soft lol
this does sound crazy but im going to give it a go. my daughter has been going on about poached eggs for a few days so she can be my guinea pig, hope it works.
I hate the mess of eggy bits and the smell of vinegar. This is just perfect.
What a great idea, I normally poach eggs in the microwave, but they do have a tendancy to explode. I will try this idea, and teach to my son who is about to go to uni and eats a lot of poached eggs.
I wish I could take credit for the idea but I didnt come up with it! I just thought more people should know about this technique, happy poaching
this is an outstanding idea. poached eggs are my fav but i cant cook them to save my life. I will try this idea this weekend.
thanks
