Description
This dessert is ideal for a barbacue or a party. I saw the recipe on one of the cookery programmes on tv and it looks and tastes good and best of all it needs no cooking!

1. First of all take your ice cream out of the freezer about 10 minutes before you need it.
2. Now line the inside of your bowl with the cling film making sure the cling film overhangs the sides.
3. Cut your swiss roll into 1cm slices.
4. Place your first slice in the middle of the bowl. Then place another next to it. Carry on until you have reached the top of the bowl. If you have any gaps cut up small pieces of the swiss roll to fill the gaps.
5. Use a pastry brush to dab the swiss roll with alcohol. Rum, sherry or Baileys would be ideal.
6. Spoon in the ice cream right to the top of the bowl. Use all one flavour or combine two ice creams.
7. Now place in the freezer for at least 3 hours or until the ice cream is firm.
8. When you want to serve your swiss roll ice cream cake gently ease this from the bowl. If it needs some help use a blunt knife and run around the edges of the cling film slowly. When the cake is loose in the bowl place a plate on top of the bowl and turn upside down so that the plate is on top. Remove the bowl and the cling film. Leave a few minutes then serve.
