Description
This recipe makes delicious applesauce and I have used it time and again. It is really simple to make and is a great way to use up those spare apples you might have.
Method

1. Peel, core and chop the cooking apples into small chunks.
2. Place apples in a large pot and add cinnamon, water and sugar. Stir well until the sugar is evenly distributed. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 20mins, stirring occasionally.
3. After 20mins take the pot off the heat and stir. Mash the chunks to desired consistency. Wait to cool fully before pouring the sauce into jars.
I have found that jars of applesauce, decorated with a bit of material and string, can make great gifts for friends and family. It is just that little bit different to your average gift and is a lot healthier than a jar of cookies.
