Mustard and Brown Sugar Gammon Joint

Easy yet tasty way to prepare Gammon - I love the combination of the mustard and Brown sugar that caramalises as you cook the joint


1)Put gammon in a saucepan and cover with water-bring to the boil and boil for 5 minutes.
2)empty out the water and rinse the gammon
3)place back in the saucepan and cover with cider, top up with water if necessary. Boil for 2 hours
4) check that the meat is cooked,take of the rind and score the fat with a knife
5)mix the mustard powder with a little water, cover the fat on the meat with the gammon, then cover with the brown sugar.
6) put in a roasting tin with the cider left from the saucepan (add fresh cider if necessary)make sure it doesn't boil dry and cook in the oven until it's golden brown (approx 30 mins depending on size of gammon joint).
