Description
I love fish pie, the creamy, fishy, potato mix just does it for me! The addition of the broccoli adds an extra twist to this one.

1. Turn the oven to fan 170oC, conventional 190oC, gas 5 and grease a 1.8 ltr baking dish. Cook the potato slices in a pan of boiling salted water for about 3 mins. Drain, return to the pan and drizzle over 1 tsp oil, to stop the slices sticking together.
2. Put the flour in a pan with the milk and 1 tbsp oil. Bring to the boil over a low heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, then cook for a minute or two. Take off the heat, stir in the broccoli, fish, parsley and lemon rind and season well.
3. Tip the mixture into the baking dish, cover with the potato slices and season with pepper. Bake for 30 mins until golden.
Chef's Tips
You don't need to serve this with anything complicated, perhaps an additional green steamed veg such as green beans or maybe petit pois and some buttered French bread would be good!
Hey Mally please put up your fish pie version for us to try!!!
it is ok, but a big carry on and a long time to make. i boil the potatoes in the pan, while the fish, and prawns go in the steamer along with some carrots broc, and cauli, mash the potatoes, and fish together, with garlic, butter, and cream, mix in the prawns. spread the veg in the bottom of the dish, and cover with potato mix, cover with cheese, and put in microwave for 3 or 4 minutes, a very quick fish pie.
