Almond Slices

Pastry covered in Jam and then topped with an Almond filling

Method

1. Make the pastry by combining all the ingredients together for the Flan pastry and kneading into a ball and then roll it out and line a baking dish with the pastry.
2. Spread the jam on the pastry.
3. Mix the almonds and sugar with a spot of
milk.
4. Spraed on top of jam on pastry.
5. Bake in a moderate oven for 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Almond Top -----
Cold Water 1½ tsp.
Icing Sugar 1 tsp.
Margarine 1½ oz.
Lard 1 oz.
Flour 4 oz.
Flan Pastry -----
Ground Almonds 2 oz.
Castor Sugar 2 oz.
Jam 5 tbsp.
