- 4 cups rice
- 1 tsp. vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 large tin cornbeef

The Baron de Ley winery was founded by a prestigious group of Rioja professionals in 1985. This an ideal meal for cooking on a tight budget for families struggling on low income or for students etc

Place a breakfast cupful of rice into a saucepan per person. Wash thoroughly in cold water until water runs clear and all starch has been washed away.
Then add enough cold water just to cover the rice no more than 2 inches above the rice, add salt and bring to the boil.
When the rice comes to the boil turn heat down to a low simmer and place lid on to saucepan. Cook until all water has evaporated and the rice is soft.
Whilst rice is cooking place frying pan on to the hob add 1 tsp of veg oil and add to this 1 chopped onion and 1 large tin of cornbeef. With a fork break down cornbeef in the pan until it is in fine shreds.
Add black pepper 1 tbs of tomato ketchup and turn down the heat to a low temperature and gently simmer until onion is nice and soft.
Then add a large tin of baked beans and mix thouroughly.
Once rice is cooked dish up on to a plate make hole in the middle and ladle on the cornbeef.

You can leave out the beans if you prefer or add chilli pepper instead of black pepper
