Nederburg Cabernet Sauvignon Rose

Nederburg Cabernet Sauvignon Rose

This beautiful rose wine is made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, fruit driven, refreshing with abundance of berry flavours and a pleasant long finish.

Description

Lovely little mouthfuls with a cup of tea or coffee, or to accompany desserts such as lemon posset, panna cotta or chocolate mousse.

Method

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 180 C.
Beat the egg whites with a fork for about 30 seconds, to make them frothy - they don’t need to be whisked, like meringues.
Mix together the sugar, ground almonds and orange zest, then add the egg white and bring together into a dough. It will look and feel like soft marzipan.
Roll the dough into a sausage shape and cut into 12 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and flatten slightly, then place on a baking tray lined with baking parchment. Press a few flaked almonds into each one.
Bake in the oven for 10 minutes until just beginning to turn golden. Leave to cool on the baking tray.

Chef's Tips

A good tip for using up a spare egg white or two!
