Delicious and very easy. Tastes as though you spent hours over the stove (but you haven't!).

1. Mix the stock cube with 1 pint of boiling water and poor into pot.
2. Crumble the 3 oxo cubes into 1 pint of boiling water and add to pot.
3. Add the onions and salt & pepper, and bring to the boil.
4. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1 hour.
5. When serving add a half slice of toast to each bowl and sprinkle with grated cheese.
