Nederburg Cabernet Sauvignon Rose

Nederburg Cabernet Sauvignon Rose

This beautiful rose wine is made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, fruit driven, refreshing with abundance of berry flavours and a pleasant long finish.

Description

This is an easy & tasty bread to make. It goes well with a bowl of soup.

Method

  1. 1

    1. Add dried yeast and sugar to 1/4 pint[140 ml] warmed milk, set aside in a warm place for 10 minutes until it starts to foam.

    2. Sieve flour and 1/2 tspn salt into a bowl, make a well in centre, add milk/yeast mixture and melted butter.

3.Mix together then knead on floured surface for 10 minutes until it forms a smooth dough.

    4. Cover with damp cloth and leave to rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

    5. Knock back by kneading, then divide into 24 small balls.

    6. Grease a loaf tin, arrange 8 balls of dough into the bottom, sprinkle with cheese, add another layer of balls, sprinkle with more cheese, then add the last 8 balls to the top.

    7. Brush with beaten egg, cover with a dry cloth and leave to prove for 1 hour in a warm place.

    8. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 220 degrees C/gas mark 7. Bake loaf for approximately 30 minutes. Ten minutes before the end of cooking time, sprinkle with some more grated cheese.

    9. Remove loaf from tin and tap bottom of loaf. If it sounds hollow, it is ready.

Place on wire rack to cool.

Chef's Tips

Why not try using your favourite grating cheese, though I would suggest using quite a strong flavoured one.

Hi Dionne, you can use strong flour, but I've had good results with the ordinaryPlain white flour.

You say Plain While Flour however, as you knead the dough, should this be Strong flour?
