rub together the flour margarine and sugar until resembles breadcrumbs. Add milk until a firm ball.
Roll out into balls about the size of large marble . Now comes the fun bit. roll the balls into milk and then into sugar . Put onto a greased tray. Stick your thumb into the top and make a large dent. fill the dent with the jam ,
bake for 20 minutes gas 6 200 C or until risen and lighly brown
i used to make these as child and my dad used to love them
i dont understand why u got to rub them in the sugar and it does not say save sugar in the ingredients but sounds good all the same
