Description
The taste of Israel - a Jewish, Sephardic recipe, similar to the Turkish 'Burek'. You can prepare burekas with various fillings - tastiest served hot and fresh!

1) Start by making the dough. Melt the margarine and mix it with the salt and flour. Add warm water until you are able to roll the dough. Roll it, and cut circles with the base of a cup or a round cutter
2) Now the filling....mix the cheese, spinach and 3 egg yolks together. Put one teaspoon of the filling onto each dough circle. Now fold them in half. On top, spread the 4th egg yolk with a sprinkle of sesame seeds
3) Place them on a well-greased cookie / baking tray and bake at 350F (180C) until golden brown (approx 15-20 minutes)
4) Serve piping hot, with a dollop of my homemade hummous, some chopped tomatoes and eggs...or some Israeli salad....YUM!
I'm going to make this soon for my Israeli partner. Thanks for the recipe!:D
