A good alternative to non healthy doughnuts! you can replace pineapple by apple.

1. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening with a fork or two knives until crumbly. Add egg and milk. Mix until smooth.
2. Heat frying oil in large fry pan.
3. Dip pineapple into batter until well coated. Drop into hot oil. Fry until golden (about 2 minutes each side).
4. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with sugar just before serving.
