- 1-2 Packs Smoked Streaky Bacon cut unto lardons
- 225g Self Raising Flour
- 125g Veggie suet or beef suet
- to taste pinch of salt
- 1 large Onion Chopped
- 120 ml Water

Suet pastry with bacon and onion centre
Method

Mix together, flour, suet, salt and water to form a dough.

Roll out dough into a large rectangle.

Cover the rolled out dough in a layer of onion and bacon.

From the narrow end roll up into a sausage.

Place on a greased and floured baking tray in the centre of a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 40 mins to 1 hour until golden brown.
Chef's Tips
Leave to stand for 5 mins before cutting.
You could put anything you want in this alongside the bacon. Ive done it with Chorizo before. Tasty! Try your own variation!!
Absolutely lovely dish. I had forgotten about this one so thanks for reminding me! My gran used to make this, but steamed it in muslin cloth for an hour or so. I shall make this next week!

Delicious. I use onion, bacon, sliced carrots or mushrooms and sliced tomatoes. I make a tomato sauce - tin chopped toms, salt & pepper, tsp sugar, to pour over the roly poly.
