Ingredients
- 6 tbsn (90ml) Vegetable Oil
- 2 Medium Onions thinly sliced
- 2 tsp (10ml) Ground Coriander
- Β½ tsp (2.5ml) Ground Cumin
- 1 tsp (5ml) Groung Turmeric
- 1 tsp (5ml) Chilli Powder
- 3 Cloves Garlic finely chopped
- 1 Β½ lb (700g) Lean Beef cubed small
- 1 Β½ pints (750ml) Water
- 1 tsp (5 ml) Salt
- 2 Red Chillis coarsely chopped
- Handfull Fresh Coriander finely chopped
- 2 tsp (10ml) Garam Masala
- 1 Medium Onion finely chopped

Preheat oven to 190C (375F)
Heat 3 tablespoons (45ml) of the vegetable oil over a medium heat and stir-fry the sliced onions for about 8 minutes or until a golden colour
Put the cooked onions into a bowl and set aside
Mix the ground coriander, ground cumin, ground turmeric and chilli powder with some water to make a smooth thin paste
Heat the remaining 3 tablespoons (45ml) of vegetable oil and stir-fry the garlic for 1 minute
Add the spice paste to the garlic and stir-fry for 2 minutes
Put the stir-fry mix into a casserole with the beef, water and salt, cover and cook for 15 minutes
Add the uncooked chopped onion and red chillies to the casserole, cover, and cook for 25 minutes
Add the fresh coriander and garam masala, cover, and cook for another 10 minutes
Add the previously cooked onions, cover, and cook for another 10 minutes
Remove the lid from the casserole, turn off the oven and leave for 10 minutes before serving
