Description

Make your own healthy, tasty ice-blocks, perfect for a hot summer's day!

Method

  1. 1

    1. Rinse and drain strawberries in cold water. Then chop the green leaves off.

    2. Cut a thin slice off the top and bottom of each kiwi fruit. Working from top to bottom, carefully slice the skins off and then roughly chop the kiwis.

    3. In a food processor, blend the strawberries with 1 tbsp of the icing sugar. Seive the strawberry puree into a bowl and throw away the seeds.

    4. Wash the food processor and sieve. Blend the kiwi fruit with 2tbsp of icing sugar. Seive the kiwi puree into a bowl and throw away the seeds.

    5. Pour the strawberry puree into the ice-block mould about 1 third high. Freeze for 1 hour to set.

    6. Add the next layer of orange juice and push a ice-block stick gently into the first layer. Freeze for 1 hour again.

    7. Add the last layer of kiwi puree.

    8. Freeze the ice-blocks for a final 1-2 hours before eating.

Chef's Tips

* You can use any of your favourite fruits or fruit juices for this recipe.

* Do not fill the moulds right up to the top as the mixture will expand a little as it freezes.
