Ingredients
- 12 oz mixed fruit
- 5 oz butter
- 5 oz caster sugar
- 1 teacup water
- 8 oz plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1 tsp mixed spice
- 1 egg - beaten

Gently simmer the mixed fruit, butter, caster sugar and water for 30 minutes, then cool.
Put all the dry ingredients into a bowl.
Stir in the rest of the ingredients.
Pour into a 7" tin and bake at 170 degree C for 1.5 hours.
I made this cake was very dissappointed as it turned out really crumbly.Marie
I have just done receipe so i hope it turns out ok as my last boiled cake was very crumbly.
