Stoneleigh Vineyards Pinot Noir

Trapiche is situated in the Mendoza region of Argentina. The winery was established in 1883 and they are well known for producing quality wine at affordable prices. This is a great example of Sauvignon Blanc from the Mendoza region. Fresh aromas of grapefruit, crisp blackcurrant leaf, green pepper and grassy back notes. Buy this wine if you like: Dry whites with lively fruit and fragrant aromatics.

Method

  1. 1

1 firstly pick your brambles wash them & then add 1 pint of vinegar to each pound of fruit cover & leave to stand for 4 or 5 days or until the good lady gets fed up with the vinegary smell!
2 Strain the liquor off & to this add 1 pound of sugar to each pint of liquor
3 Bring to the boil skimming off any scum on the top or it will boil over
4 Once the sugar is all dissolved take off the heat leave to cool
5 Bottle it up & enjoy straightaway
6 The Bramble Vinegar will keep for years
7 Serve on Yorkshire pudding as a sweet delicious
8 It is possibly an acquired taste as it is quite sharp

I would call this blackberry vinegar - you make it with the berries. As well as being excellent on Yorkshire (batter)pudding as a dessert, it's also good to take a couple of spoonfuls daily to ward off colds in the winter as it's full of vitamin C. The berries are very plentiful this year and can be picked freely all over the countryside this month and September. Don't forget to sterilise your bottles - screwtop wine bottles are good - before filling.

Hello from Canada!

I'm not sure what is meant by bramble (the green, leafy bits or the actual berries) but if someone could clear this up for me, I'd love to try this recipe.

I quite enjoy trying out new recipes! Thanks in advance for your help :)
