1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Then gradually beat in the egg.
2. Gently fold in the sifted flour. Roll the mixture on floured surface and divide into sixteen pieces.
3. Mould each piece into a ball then roll in the oats to cover. Place onto trays and flatten slightly to bake. After baking place half a cherry on each biscuit then leave until cold.
