Description
These chicken wings are just like you get in a Chinese restaurant or take-away
Method
-
1
Chop off the toe ends off the chicken wings and throw the toe ends away (or use as stock).
-
2
At the mid joint which remains, cut using a sharp knife making the 1 into 2.
-
3
Pre-heat a deep fat fryer.
-
4
Put wings in a bowl and coat in beaten egg.
-
5
Roll wings in flour and put on a plate.
-
6
Once all the wings have been done, drop into fryer for about 6-10 mins depending on how well done and crispy you like them.
-
7
You may have to do in batches if your fryer is small.
-
8
Alternatively, you can use a wok as a deep fryer if you do not own one.
-
9
Once all the wings have been cooked, finish off for 5-10 mins in the oven on 160.
-
10
Meanwhile, heat a wok with a little oil.
-
11
Dice or roughly chop pepper, garlic and onion to your liking.
-
12
Remove seed and chop chilli and put all into the wok.
-
13
Add salt and pepper and fry for about 5-10 mins.
-
14
Take chicken wings out of oven, put into a bowl and top with your salt and pepper mix.
Chef's Tips
Prior to frying instead of rolling in flour, you can use breadcrumbs seasoned or a batter mix, you can choose according to what you like :-) Hope you enjoy
