Description
My mum used to make this dip every Hallowe'en for me and my brother. Hence the name 'fiery dip'. It's really a sweet tomato onion dip but very tasty!!
Method
-
1
1) Dice the onion up and fry for 5 mins in the oil
2) Next add the Water, Vingear, Sugar and Mustard and bring to the boil for 5 minutes
3) Reduce the mixture down until it goes slightly sticky and there is no runny liquid in the pan (takes about 15 mins at a simmer temperture)
4) Add the tomato ketchup and simmer for a further 5 minutes
5) Optional - Salt and Pepper to season
Makes a great dip for burgers, fish fingers, sausages etc!
Note: It is not spicy - the reason it's called fiery dip is because it was originally for Hallowe'en!
