- 2 oz margerine or butter or some oil
- 1 lb stewing steak - cubed
- 1 onion - peeled and sliced
- 2 carrots - peeled and sliced
- Β½ pint stock
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 4oz frozen peas
- salt and ground pepper
- 1 packet shortcrust pastry

Cooked in pressure cooker.
Saute the beef and vegetables in the fat until the beef is browned and the vegetables are beginning to colour.
Remove from the heat and stir in the stock, salt, pepper, tomato puree.
Bring to a high pressure and cook for 15 minutes.
When cooked, stir the peas into the meat and vegetable mixture and pour the mixture into a 1.5 pint pie dish.
Cut a strip of pastry to go around the lip of the pie dish.
Wet the lip and press the strip on.
Wet the strip and press on the pastry top, sealing the edges well and cutting a steam hole in the centre.
Decorate with pastry trimmings.
Brush with milk and bake at 200 degrees for about 25 minutes.
