- 2 kgs Green and/or Black Grapes
- 4 Cups White Vinegar
- 500 gms Sugar
- 2 tsp Allspice
- 2 tsp Ground Cloves
- 2 tsp Ground Ginger
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper

Good way to use and enjoy the excess grapes on your vine.

Wash and drain grapes and put into a plastic or crockery container.
Put sugar, spices and vinegar into a saucepan, stir until sugar is dissolved, bring to the boil.
Pour hot liquid over grapes (liguid must cover grapes), cover and cool.
Steep grapes for 1 week.
Use a slotted spoon to put grapes into jars.
Put a cinnamon stick in each jar.
Bring the liquid to the boil and pour over grapes.
Fill jars to the top, cool and seal.

Nina, I've just noticed grapes on a vine at a friend's house here in the north of New Zealand. I've never eated pickled grapes. In fact, it's the first time I've ever seen a recipe for them - so will definitely be trying them. What is the taste like? And what would you recommend eaten them with, or alongside?
