Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 3oz Butter
- 1.5 tbl sp Curry powder
- 2 pints beef stock
- Juice ยฝ lemon
- 2 Bay Leaves
- 1 tbl sp brown sugar
- 2 tbl sp tomato puree
- 1.5 lb Chuck steak

Dad gave me this receipe and it works well as the kids love it.
Method

Peel and coarsely chop the onions and the garlic.
Using half the fat, stir in a tbls of curry powder and fry at low heat for one minute.
Add onion and garlic and fry further 2 minutes.
Pour in stock and lemon juice, add bay leaves and simmer for 45 mins.
Meanwhile trim fat from meat and cut into bite size pieces.
Season with salt and pepper and dust with remaining curry powder.
Melt rest of fat in separate pan and seal meat on high heat.
Strain stock over the meat, stir in sugar and tomato puree and simmer until meat tender.
Set aside to cool and skim off any fat.
Reheat and serve on a rice ring with popadoms and naan bread and chutneys.
Chef's Tips
Can use this recipe for all meat curries by changing stock.
Can also use additional veg or all veg.
Try coconut milk.
