Ingredients
- 1 pack Stewing Steak
- 1 can Tinned tomatoes
- 1 large onion (or 2 small)
- 1-2 Cloves garlic (to your taste)
- 1-2 Green Chilli (dependent on heat and preference)
- 1 Lime, juice only
- 1 Green Pepper, Sliced
- 1 Β½ tsp Chilli powder
- Β½ tsp cinnamon powder
- 1Β½ tsp Chinese five-spice powder
- 2 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 Beef Stock Cube
- 2 tsp mushroom ketchup (or worcester sauce)
- 1 tsp hot pepper sauce (or 5 drops hot tabasco)
- olive oil
- salt and freshly ground black pepper

Description
A Chilli of my own creation which (i think) i have finally perfected, it has a slightly BBQ flavor to it and is also Great to use for Fajita's!
Method

Preheat the oven to 120C.
1.Dice the Onions and add them to an ovenproof pan with about 2 tsp olive oil,fry for about 3 mins on a medium heat until soft, dice or crush the garlic and add to the pan for another minute or so.
2.Add the sliced Pepper along with the Chilli Powder, Cinnamon, Cumin, 5 Spice and Paprika and coat everything in the spices, add a little more oil if needed.
3.Scoot the onions and everything else to the far side of the pan and add in the stewing steak(DO NOT slice cube or dice the steak in any way!)and brown for a minute or so on each side.
4.Take the Green Chilli(s) and put on the end of a metal skewer hold the Chilli(s) over an open flame (hob or chefs torch will do) and blister the skin until black, place inside a sealed sandwich bag and leave to sweat for 5 mins.
5.Meanwhile add the tinned Tomatoes to the pan and give it a stir.
6.Finely chop the Chilli(s) and add to the pan.
7.Add about a cupful of water and crumble in the stock cube.
8.Put the lid on the pan and put in the oven for about 3 hours.
9.After 3 hours take out of the oven and give it a good stir, skim off any excess oil and add half of the lime juice, put back in the oven for another 3-4 hours.
10.Take out of the oven and break up the stewing steak with 2 forks (or give it a bash with a wooden spoon)until you have lots of lovely little bits of meat (kinda like pulled pork.
11.Add the rest of the lime juice and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve with rice.
OR
Reduce the liquid by about two thirds until you have a sticky gloopy mixture and serve in wraps with Rice, Soured Cream, Guacamole and salsa YUMMY!
