Nederburg Cabernet Sauvignon Rose

Nederburg Cabernet Sauvignon Rose

This beautiful rose wine is made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, fruit driven, refreshing with abundance of berry flavours and a pleasant long finish.

Description

This is a variation on a recipe passed to me by my parents. It makes for a great, tasty and quick dinner.

Method

  1. 1

    1. Brown off the mince and finely chopped onion together in a saucepan making sure to break the mince down into small crumbly pieces. Ensure you mix through properly to brown all the mince. If the mince you are using is particularly greasy you may wish to drain off some of the grease prior to step 2.

    2. Add boiling water. Enough to cover the mince and onion mixture.

    3. Add the Oxo Beef Stock Cube by crumbling it into the pan. Then add the Thyme. Mix well and put on a low heat and simmer for 30 mins stirring occasionally.

    4. Whilst the mince is simmering peel and chop the potatoes, wash and place in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Add salt to taste.

    5. Cover pan of potatoes and bring to the boil. Once at the boil lower temperature, lift lid and allow to simmer for 20 -30 mins or until potatoes are soft and crumbly.

    6. Once Potatoes are ready turn off heat on both pots and drain potatoes.

    7. Add Tumeric to Mince, add Bisto Beef Gravy Granules stir well and leave to sit while you finish potatoes.

    8. Add butter and milk to potatoes and mash until soft and smooth.

    Then serve!

Chef's Tips

Very scrummy if mince is served on a bed of the smooth, tasty potatoes. Always goes down a treat with the boys and very filling.

forgot to add... that you can serve with vegetables for that extra healthy 'bit'!

I usually mix carrots through the mince while its cooking if they are fresh carrots or add them just before putting in the gravy granules to warm them thoroughly if they are tinned variety.

You could use mushrooms, peas, etc to you liking!
