- ½ lb Fresh. whole dates
- --header-- FOR THE PASTE
- 2 oz ground almonds
- 1 oz icing sugar
- 1 oz caster sugar
- ¼ teaspoon almond essence
- 1 tspn lemon juice

1. Cut the dates in half almost to the center (length ways) and remove the stone. Mix all the ingredients for the paste together.
2. Roll the paste into sausage shapes and stuff in the dates. Place in paper cases.
