Description
This is my take on Macaroni cheese for my dairy/egg allergic children
Quanities are for my two little girls, so more macaroni and sauce will be required for a full family meal.
Method
-
1
1 Boil macaroni pasta for 15 mins
2 Mix a little of the milk in a pan with the cheese powder to form a paste
3 Slowly add the rest of the milk to the paste
4 Put cheese sauce on a medium heat
5 Stir constantly until boiling
6 Remove from the heat - the sauce will seem to be a bit runny - don't worry, we will thicken it with the grated cheese in a minute
7 When the macaroni is cooked pour it into the cheese sauce and mix
8 Sprinkle on the grated cheese and stir it all in
9 Put in individual bowls and garnish with tomatoes and parsley
10 Serve it up
Chef's Tips
Please play about with the quanitites to suit your family size. I serve this up as a teatime meal for my two little girls, aged 3 and 1.
I garnish maxaroni cheese with thier favourite cherry toms and servie it up with chopped cucumber, pepper slices and radish. I tend to serve these up first so the girls can munch on the veg while I cook and then add the small bowl
of pasta to their plates.
