Description
i tried some potato and bazil bread yesterday and it was very very plain that is the reason i like this recipe this potato bread is full of flavour.
Method
-
1
1, boil mash potatoes until tender. add the potato water to a large bowl
2, add yeast to a small bowl with the 1 tsp sugarand then add the warm water
3,add the sugar, melted butter, and the salt to the mashed potato and stir, when this is cool add the yeast eggs and milk.
4,add the flour a cup at a time and make a soft dough on a floured surface, kneed the dough for about ten mins or until smooth and elastic.
5,let the dough rise in a warm place covered until double (i diddnt do this because of lack of time and the amount of mixture i already had but if you want a huge loaf please do this) when it has doubled in size kneed for a few more minutes, split it into 2-4 loaves depending on wether you left it to rise or not ( i made buns and a long loaf but it doesnt matter what you make them into)
6, place the loaves into greased bread pans and bake at at gasmark 5/ for 30 - 40 mins
(the mixture may look nasty before it is turned into a dough but dont worry the result of it is lovely! and you will defently want more!)
