Meatballs
First finely dice and fry off one of your onions on a low heat then put to one side to cool.
Break the lamb and beef mince into a bowl and add the salt and pepper then grate the shallot and the garlic in, by now your onion will have cooled enough to handle add this to the mixture too.
Whisk your egg and add just under half to the mixture.
Now get your hands in and mix all the ingredients together well. if the mixture is too stiff add a little more of the egg.
Once this is done you are ready to make your balls.
You should be able to make approx 16/20 meatballs depending on the size, place them on a baking tray and put in the oven for approx 25mins at about 160 degrees.
(times may vary depending on the size of your meatballs)
Pasta.
Place your pasta in a pan of boiling salted water( put a little olive oil in your water this will stop the pasta from sticking together) for approx 20 mins or until its al dente.
Sauce.
Finely dice the second onion & the peppers and add to a pan with the chopped tomatoes, add a pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar and you tomato puree, bring to the boil then simmer for 2/3 minutes.
When your meatballs are ready place your pasta on a warmed plate cover with your sauce and meatballs on top. Finish with some grated parmesan.
Sounds delicious I will definietly have a try making it
