1
preheat oven 170*c, grease and line 2 8" cake tins
1.Whisk the sugar and margarine until pale and fluffy.
2.Add the eggs, flour and baking powder, the cake will rise better if this is added 1 egg and a 1/4 of flour and baking powder mix at a time and whisk thoroughly.
3.Add 3 tbsp of chocolate spread and gently fold into the mixture.
4.Pour the mixture into the prepared tins and bake in oven for 20-25 mins. Check after 20 mins using a knife or skewer in centre of sponge if it comes out clean its ready.
5.Remove from oven, cool slightly then transfer to a wire cooling rack.
6.Mix the icing sugar, marg and remaining chocolate spread. The amounts can be altered to taste, I find this varies depending on the individual.
7. When sponge layers have cooled place 1 upside down and spread the butter icing leaving 1cm around edge, place the top sponge with flat side first. Dust with Icing sugar and enjoy!
