Nederburg Cabernet Sauvignon Rose

Nederburg Cabernet Sauvignon Rose

This beautiful rose wine is made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, fruit driven, refreshing with abundance of berry flavours and a pleasant long finish.

Description

A delicious simple snack or great for a starter at a dinner party

Method

  1. 1

Melt about half the butter in a pan.

  2. 2

Gently fry the onions together with the garlic and bacon until soft and browned off.

  3. 3

Remove the mushroom stalks and finely chop them and add them to the pan, keeping the remaining mushroom caps.

  4. 4

Allow the finely chopped stalks to cook for a few minutes.

  5. 5

Season the mushroom caps with salt and freshly ground black pepper and fry gently for a few minutes on both sides.

  6. 6

Remove the mushroom caps from the pan and set aside.

  7. 7

Stir in the breadcrumbs, seasoning and parsley to the onions, garlic, bacon and mushroom stalk mix.

  8. 8

Lay out the mushroom caps on an ovenproof dish and fill with stuffing.

  9. 9

Pop a blob of the remaining butter on top of the uncooked stuffed mushroom.

  10. 10

Bake at 160 degrees C for 20 to 25 mins.

  11. 11

When cooked garnish with a chive sprig or the like and serve.

  12. 12

This will serve 1 or 2 people. To feed more just increase the ingredient quantity accordingly.

Chef's Tips

This recipe is also great as a vegetarian option, simply use more chopped mushtooms and leave out the bacon.
