Beat egg and sugar well. Add jam. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Melt butter and add vinegar. Add liquids to egg mixture alternating with the flour. Beat well. Bake in covered dish for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
SAUCE
Melt cream, butter, sugar and water together. Pour over pudding as it comes out of the oven.
