1. Mix Flour, salt, sugar, milk and egg
2. Stir in melted butter
3. Add a little oil to a hot pan, then pour on pancake mix. Reduce heat to medium so they cook through but don't burn.
4. Serve with maple syrup and or blueberries, fresh fruit, bacon etc.
same i have never had them done with butter ethiere just for in the
pan :)

Thanks for spotting (and I have amended the recipe cooking time)- no this was a mistake and usually takes about 5 mins depending on how hot the pan is.

it took me about 10 mins to make the batter and then the cooking took about 3 mins per pancake.
does it actually take 8 hours to cook, or was that just a mistake?

Oh, and BUTTERMILK when you can find it makes it a good Southern US variation...they're much better with it.
Be sure you're using SELF RISING flour (or adding baking soda/powder) to make them into a real fluffy American pancake. I never add butter to mine and have never seen anyone do that, but a bit of oil/butter in the pan to keep them from sticking is pretty essential.
