Description

Even after a week in a warm kitchen our punnet of supermarket plums showed no sign of ripening So, stew them or what? Here's what. Simple really.

Method

  1. 1

Cut each plum, with a sharp knife to stone depth all round the plum starting at the stalk end. Carefully prise apart and remove the stone.
Prod the flesh of each half with a fork.
Place the fruit in a baking tray and pile a spoon of sugar in the well left by the stone for each half.

Place in a pre heated oven at about 180c for about 15 min's.

Chef's Tips

Serve with a little of the caramel sauce and single cream.

Hi Cocinero. Great to see you as the featured chef! I love roasting fruit in the oven and love the simplicity of this recipe. I can just imagine how delicious the plum caramel sauce is. You are so right about the punnets of supermarket plums! I will be making this when plums are next in season. Thank you.
