- 0.4 litres sugar
- 1.3 litre flour
- 9 tbsp syrup
- 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp ground cloves
- 2 tsp ground cardamon

These are known as pepparkakor! Spicy Christmas biscuits.

1. Melt the margarine,sugar, syrup and spices. Heat till it get a little bubbly, then remove from heat.
2. Leave to cool. Once cold, add the eggs. Mix the bicarbonate with a little bit of flour, mix in and then add the rest of the flour, a bit at a time.
3. Once all the ingredients are mixed together, wrap in either foil or clingfilm and leave in fridge over-night.
4. Roll out thinly (about 0.25 cm)on a floured surface then cut into shapes to cook. Oven temperature 175-200 degrees for 8-10 mins.
Chef's Tips
Cut the dough into sections when rolling the dough to make it easier.
