Ingredients
- 4 oz butter
- 2 tblsp golden syrup
- ½ lb flakemeal (rolled oats)
- 3 oz sugar
- ½ tsp baking powder

Warm the butter and the syrup in a saucepan until the butter has just melted. Mix the other ingredients and add to the saucepan. Mix well.
Spoon the mixture into a greased swiss roll tin. Use the back of a wooden spoon to gently press down and level off.
Bake in a slow oven for one and a half hours.
Leave in the tin until cool, then cut into squares.
