- 2 Handfuls Lentils
- 1 Handful Yellow Split Peas
- 2 Carrots Peeled and Chopped
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 Celery (diced)
- 1 Vegetable Stock Cube

Soak split peas overnight. Soak lentils for 1 hour.
Boil ham/gammon over 2 hours. Refresh the boiling water once so that the water is not to salty. Remove meat and allow water to cool removing any fat on the surface.
Add other ingredients to the water and bring to the boil.
Add some shredded ham/gammon to the soup and season.
Simmer for 2+ hours and serve with warm crusty bread.
