Nederburg Cabernet Sauvignon Rose
This beautiful rose wine is made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, fruit driven, refreshing with abundance of berry flavours and a pleasant long finish.
Description
I have been making this since I was at school. I can't remember where I got it originally but I know that every time I make it, it goes very quickly!
Method

1
Put Marge/butter, golden syrup and sugar into a large saucepan and heat on a medium heat until all the marge/butter has melted.
Turn off the heat and stir in the oats.
Tip into a lightly greased (more the edges than the bottom)tin and gently spread out to the edges **DO NOT FLATTEN OR PRESS DOWN**
Put into pre heated oven at gas mark 4 or 5 or 200C. Cook for 10 mins in a fan assisted or 15 for conventional gas ovens. The edges should have started to go brown and it should be bubbling.
Cut around the edges with a sharp knife whilst still warm but leave in the tin until completely cool before removing. I have found that a loose bottom sponge tin is the easiest as you can remove the sides of the tin and then cut up the flap jack with a sharp knife first before removing. (This does damage the non stick coating so I use the same old tin each time!)
Chef's Tips
You can use normal white granulated sugar if you want or I sometimes use Dark Brown soft sugar and it gives it a slightly treacle taste. If you want you can add dried fruit after you add the oats or wait until the mix has cooled first and add chocolate chunks.
