Soak tamarind paste in warm water (50 ml) for 10 minutes, then strain and set aside.

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the strained tamarind liquid with fish sauce, sugar, chili, Shallots, and coconut milk. Cook until it thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
