Easter Cherry Trifle

Yummy dessert for Easter, it works with strawberries as well

Method

1. Spread 4 slices of the Madeira cake with jam then sandwich together with the remaining slices cut into cubes and place in a trifle dish

2. Sprinkle with the cherry brandy

3. Top with chocolate chips and cherries

4. Mix the custard powder with the sugar and a little milk

5. Boil the remaining milk, then stir in the custard powder and cook until it thickens, stirring continuously

6. Leave the custard to cool then pour gently over the trifle

7. Top with the cream then decorate with mini Easter eggs
