Method

  1. 1

    1. Heat and grease a heavy frying pan.

    2. Sift together the bicarb, flour and cream of tartar together.

    3. Now rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

    4. Stir in the egg and enough milk until the mixture reaches a thick creamy texture.

    5. Drop a spoonfuls of mixture, allowing space for expansion into the frying pan.

    6. Allow to cook for 2 to 3 mins until bubbles appear in the surface of the drop scones.

    7. Now flip them over and cook on the other side for about the same length of time.

    8. Serve warm with butter and or honey.

Wont they be burnt if the cooking time is 8 hours, as stated under the ingredients list? ;-)Seriously, they look lovely and I will be trying them today!
