Nederburg Winemasters Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

The famous and multi-award winning Nederburg estate has been handcrafting wines for over two centuries.A full bodied wine with ripe fruit.

Description

This delightful sage and onion stuffing is the perfect companion for your roast, bringing a comforting blend of flavors to your table. With a mix of crunchy bread crumbs and tender onions, seasoned with fragrant sage and a hint of apple, it’s both easy to prepare and irresistibly delicious. Bake it until golden brown for a satisfying texture that will elevate any meal, making it a must-try for your next gathering.

Method

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

  2. 2

Wizz the bread crumbs until you get some fine and some small crouton size.

  3. 3

Chop onion into whatever size you like. I prefer fine.

  4. 4

Mix together bread, onion, sage, salt and pepper, oil/butter (chopped apple).

  5. 5

Add some water or vegetable stock to the mixture to combine.

  6. 6

Place in a baking dish or roll into balls and place on a baking tray.

  7. 7

Cook in center of the oven for about 40 minutes at 200 degrees until golden brown (if you're cooking other things in the oven at the same time).

  8. 8

Or cook on the top shelf for about 20-25 minutes.

Chef's Tips

Ive left the water/veg stock to taste as some people like stuffing gooey and baked in a dish or a bit stiffer and rolled into balls.

If i have my roast potatoes on the top shelf i put the stuffing in a baking dish in the centre.

Ive not tried to stuff meat with this as i dont like stuffed meat.
